Headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, Luma also has offices in New York, NY, Miami, FL, Zurich, Switzerland and Lisbon, Portugal.Key Responsibilities & OpportunitiesDesign and implement scalable microservicesDevelop and maintain high-performance Java and Spring Boot applicationsCreate and optimize APIs with a focus on system reliabilityImplement comprehensive testing strategiesDevelop async communication systemsImplement robust monitoring and alerting solutionsWork with both relational and non-relational databasesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and deliver technical solutionsStay up to date with emerging technologies, architectures, and coding best practicesAdapt to a fast-paced environment with shifting prioritiesQualificationsBachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum 4 years of professional software development experienceProven experience working in an Agile framework (Scrum/Kanban)Excellent communicationDemonstrated commitment to high-quality, maintainable codeStrong expertise in Java and Spring BootStrong experience with relational and noSQL databasesSolid understanding of microservices architecture and design patternsAPI and Async streamingExperience with production support and troubleshootingHands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS preferred)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and production deployment best practicesFamiliarity with AI tools like Claude Code and AWS KiroGood understanding of React frontend application is desired
