About the Role We are looking for Electrical Engineers to add to our growing Engineering team and become the driving force behind our High Voltage projects. You’ll be part of the design team for a range of multi-disciplinary Transmission & Distribution projects both domestically and internationally. You can expect variety and travel, visiting client sites to independently discuss, define and verify client requirements and reflecting the output in high quality proposals and reports.
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for key elements of design delivery on one or more projects that may be working concurrently.
Key Responsibilities Overall responsibility to produce electrical engineering on projects assigned to you.
Work closely with civil designer to ensure civil aspects meet electrical equipment requirements.
Act as single point of contact (SPOC) with Utility provider and client owners’ engineer.
Manage electrical & civil design logs from Utility provider and client owners’ engineer.
Manage design pack submittals to Utility provider and client owners’ engineer.
Assist with the preparation of procurement specifications for the main primary plant including HV power transformers, HV circuit breakers, HV switchgear and NERs.
Review supplier documents and schematics to ensure equipment is compliant with technical specifications and functional specifications.
Responsible for the preparation of physical HV layouts, electrical systems, secondary control and protection systems and single line diagrams.
Responsible for the preparation of HV system studies including protection coordination, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level reports.
Attend Utility provider and client owners engineer meetings as required.
Key Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in high-voltage (HV) design and engineering within Transmission & Distribution projects.
Strong understanding of primary plant equipment (HV transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, NERs).
Experience preparing physical HV layouts, electrical systems, single line diagrams, and secondary control/protection systems.
Proficiency in conducting HV system studies (protection coordination, load flow, fault level, voltage regulation).
Ability to review supplier drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure compliance.
Familiarity with civil and electrical interface requirements in multidisciplinary projects.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act as a single point of contact with utility providers, client engineers, and stakeholders.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for site visits and client meetings.
Expertise in high-voltage electrical engineering design and studies.
Strong knowledge of utility standards, regulations, and technical compliance.
Skilled in design coordination and documentation management (design logs, submittals).
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to deliver high-quality proposals and reports.
Collaboration skills to work effectively with civil designers, procurement teams, and clients.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills for utility/client meetings.
Proactive, motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
