Job Description Outside Sales Representative - Security and Fire Protection Systems Provider - Total Compensation to 130k/year - New York City, NYOur client is a family owned, full-service fire protection and security services company that has been around since 1930. They sell, install, and inspect/maintain alarm systems, access control, suppression systems, SCBA, gas detection, sprinkler systems, CCTV, fire extinguishers, etc. Their potential client base is anyone with a physical business location, and they provide one time and recurring services for commercial, municipal, and especially industrial customers throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.The Outside Sales Representative is a growth position, they are looking for candidates who can expand their reach in security services, while maintaining or growing their current fire accounts. This is primarily a work from home and in the field position, with the territory being all Five Boroughs. Experience in outside sales, specifically security services and/or fire protection industry, is required for this position.Responsibilities:Drive net-new revenue across fire protection and security service lines through proactive prospectingHunt for new business within the NYC territory using multi-channel outreachGenerate leads, qualify prospects, and secure appointments with decision-makersPresent and sell full portfolio of solutions including fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, monitoring, access control, CCTV/video, intrusion, inspections & testing contractsConduct on-site walkthroughs and system assessments to identify compliance, security vulnerabilities, and upgrade opportunitiesMaintain an organized funnel and pipeline strategy to ensure consistent opportunity creationLog all communication, appointments, quotes, and follow-ups inside CRM for transparency and accountabilityPrepare and deliver proposals for inspections, maintenance, monitoring agreements, retrofits, and new system installationsFollow up persistently on aging quotes, open opportunities, and competitive bids until closed-won or closed-lostLeverage professional networks, chamber events, trade associations, safety groups, and community relationships for lead generationBuild relationships with facility managers, business owners, general contractors, EHS/Safety teams, property managers, IT/security directors, and AHJsCoordinate with operations, design, and engineering to scope projects and ensure seamless handoff of awarded workDevelop strong knowledge of code compliance (NFPA, IBC, NEC), AHJ requirements, and industry standards for both fire and securityAttend industry events, trade shows, and technology demonstrations to stay up to date on evolving solutions and market needsMeet and exceed established KPIs including outbound call volume, LinkedIn outreach, in-person touches, new meetings set, and proposal outputHit sales quotas consistently through disciplined prospecting cadence, strong closing ability, and ongoing funnel managementUphold a high level of professionalism, urgency, integrity, and consultative problem-solving in every interactionAttend bimonthly office meetings in Manhattan, and travel throughout the region using own vehicle (mileage reimbursed)Qualifications:Prior experience in the security or fire protection industry requiredOutside sales experience requiredAbility to travel to customer sites throughout the Five BoroughsExcellent communication and negotiation skills, self-motivatedAbility to obtain security clearance for site visitsAbility to set own schedule and take ownership over the territoryCompensation:Total compensation for this position consists of a base salary in the 75k - 85k/year range, plus commission; estimated first year on target earnings of 120k - 130k/yearUncapped commissionMedical insurance401k with 3% employer contribution (safe harbor)3 weeks PTOCar allowance or travel/public transit reimbursement#INDALL
