Peer Specialist / Peer Advocate -- Part-Time Fee-for-Service

Job Description RevCore Recovery Center is seeking a part-time Peer Specialist / Peer Advocate to provide peer support services to individuals receiving outpatient substance use and/or mental health treatment. This is a fee-for-service position, paid at $30 per billable service, with a schedule of up to 24 hours per week.The Peer Specialist / Peer Advocate will use lived experience, recovery knowledge, and peer support skills to assist clients with engagement in treatment, recovery goals, coping skills, community connection, and ongoing wellness. Peer support services are non-clinical but play an important role in helping individuals stay connected to care and build stability in their recovery process. OASAS describes CRPAs as peers who draw from lived experience with substance use and professional training to provide non-clinical recovery support services. OMH peer support guidance also recognizes NYCPS peers as individuals in recovery who support treatment-related decision-making, wellness, and individual-driven outcomes.Required CertificationCandidates must have at least one of the following active peer certifications:NYCPS — New York Certified Peer SpecialistNYCPS-P — New York Certified Peer Specialist-ProvisionalCRPA — Certified Recovery Peer AdvocateCRPA-P — Certified Recovery Peer Advocate-ProvisionalResponsibilitiesThe Peer Specialist / Peer Advocate will be responsible for:Providing peer support services to clients in outpatient treatmentSupporting clients with recovery goals, wellness planning, coping skills, and community reintegrationEncouraging treatment engagement and participation in servicesAssisting clients with identifying personal strengths, barriers, and recovery supportsHelping clients connect with community resources and supportive servicesProviding non-clinical support based on lived experience and peer principlesCollaborating with clinical staff, counselors, therapists, supervisors, and care team membersCompleting required documentation for billable peer services in a timely and accurate mannerParticipating in supervision, training, and program meetings as requiredMaintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical peer support practicesQualificationsRequired:Active NYCPS, NYCPS-P, CRPA, or CRPA-P certificationLived experience with mental health recovery, substance use recovery, or supporting recovery, as applicable to certificationAbility to provide respectful, nonjudgmental, person-centered peer supportStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and recovery-oriented carePreferred:Experience working in an outpatient behavioral health or substance use programExperience with Medicaid-billable peer support documentationBilingual candidates are encouraged to applyFamiliarity with OASAS and/or MH outpatient program settingsLocationThis position is primarily based at our Manhattan location.
