Carpenter
Key Responsibilities: Construct, install, and repair building frameworks and structures, including walls, floors, doorframes, stairways, and roofs. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans to determine project specifications and requirements. Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other construction materials with precision. Assemble and install structures, fixtures, and various components like windows, doors, flooring, and cabinetry. Build and disassemble scaffolding, braces, and temporary structures as needed for construction projects. Ensure structures meet building codes, specifications, and safety regulations. Use hand and power tools, including saws, drills, chisels, and hammers, safely and efficiently. Assist in laying out foundations, erecting walls, and other major structural installations. Inspect and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. Work closely with other construction professionals, such as electricians, plumbers, and general contractors, to ensure timely project completion. Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies, wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.Requirements: Proven experience as a construction carpenter or a similar role in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and plans. Familiarity with general construction and framing techniques, including concrete formwork, drywall installation, and roofing. Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions. Proficiency with power tools such as circular saws, drills, nail guns, and measuring tools like tape measures and levels. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work with precision. Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry or a related field is a plus. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites. Certification in carpentry or construction safety (OSHA) is advantageous.Working Conditions: Must be able to work on active construction sites, which may include working at heights, in confined spaces, or in outdoor environments. Exposure to noise, dust, and various weather conditions. Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on project timelines.Benefits: Competitive wage based on experience.
