Press Brake Operator - 1st & 2nd Shift

Job SummaryPulverman is looking for a Press Brake Operator to join our team. The Press Brake Operator bends sheet metal parts into the proper shape according to customer specifications. Once the parts are done, the Press Brake Operators checks to make sure the parts are the correct size and shape. This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of press brake equipment in a just-in-time fabrication shop.The ideal candidate will know how to read blueprints and will have previous experience operating press brake equipment or working with CNC equipment. However, we will train the right candidate.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafety:Operate press brake machine with safety devices & guardsMinimize pinch points to maximize safetyEnsure safe workplace and follow all safety rulesWear all required personal protective equipmentReport all accidents & any safety issues to Supervisor or Safety ManagerQuality:Follow all SOP's and quality standardsManufacture parts per Router / work instruction requirementsInspect parts, secure 2nd verification, verify dimensions, etc., per work orderDetect & report defective parts to Supervisor / LeadReport all required information & report router discrepanciesTraining:Work with Supervisor, Lead, mentor to learn Pulverman processes & proceduresLearn setup and programming of press brake machineParticipate in relevant training activitiesProductivity:Report productivity (setup & run) accuratelyReport good material & scrap accuratelyWork with Supervision to implement productivity improvements (daily)Work with Supervision to implement setup reduction strategiesEquipment:Operate the press break machineBend and form metal using standard and custom punchesSetup, program and adjust press brake as requiredReport all maintenance issues and work to resolveConduct required Operator preventative maintenanceCommunication:Provide feedback to Management team for ideas & improvementsExpress ideas & thoughts verbally in a positive & productive mannerExhibit good communication, listening & comprehension skillsWorkflow:Execute work plan per scheduleWork Expectations:Pay close attention to detail & focus on assigned tasksCooperate, support co-workers and be a strong team playerBe reliable and adhere to attendance policyMaintain organization and housekeepingPerform other duties as requestedCreate Excellence EverydayQualificationsSheet metal forming and fabrication background strongly desiredExperience in a manufacturing environment strongly desiredBasic knowledge of press brake and/or punch operations including setup desiredAbility to use precision measurement toolsCompetency in basic mathAble to read & interpret customer blueprints and other drawing aidsHigh School Education or higherExceptional communication skillsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectationsDesire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledgeSafety conscious behaviorCommitment to quality accuracy of work & continuous improvementUnderstanding and support of Pulverman policies & proceduresExcellent attendancePhysical RequirementsWork in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, eye protection & safety shoesLift, carry, push and/or pull 1-50 lbs. frequentlySquat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach outward frequentlyStand & walk for 1-8 hours per dayWork safely in a constantly changing work environmentWork with tools, including small hand tools, cutters, pliers, etc.Handle & work safely around material and parts with burrs, sharp edges, etc.Work around forklift trafficWork in an environment with concrete floorsWork in hot or cold temperatures depending on the time of year
