Engineering Project Manager

Company DescriptionThe Engineering Project Manager role supports complex, cross-functional engineering projects primarily focused on commercial nuclear power, oil & gas, and emission-free mobility sectors. This role is critical in overseeing the full project lifecycle from design through field implementation ensuring compliance and coordination across multiple functions.ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end project execution from design through procurement, fabrication, testing, qualification, and field implementation.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, integrated schedules, and budgets coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and regulatory teams.Track progress against technical, regulatory, and commercial milestones, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies especially impacting safety, licensing, quality, or delivery.Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, maintain configuration control and documentation traceability throughout the project lifecycle.Facilitate communication among internal stakeholders, leadership, suppliers, customers, and regulatory representatives.Coordinate alignment between engineering disciplines and manufacturing operations to translate technical requirements into production and inspection plans.Oversee supplier and subcontractor performance ensuring adherence to quality, schedule, and contractual requirements.Lead formal design reviews, risk reviews, quality hold points, and executive status updates with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, and compliance.Contribute to standardized project management processes, tools, and governance practices.Collect, analyze, and report project performance metrics and implement improvements.Monitor and control project costs aligning with approved budgets and business objectives. Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related technical field.At least 7 years managing complex technical or engineering projects in regulated industrial environments such as nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing.Experience managing projects with strict quality assurance and regulatory requirements.Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.Experience with integrated project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.Familiarity with MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management tools.Working knowledge of configuration management, document control, and lifecycle management processes.Proficient with MS Office Suite.Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple industrial sectors.Familiarity with business plan and proposal development supporting sales and marketing efforts.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting nuclear power plant projects, especially Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) systems and components.Familiarity with nuclear industry codes such as ASME Section III, Section XI; 10 CFR 50 Appendix B; NQA-1.Experience working with nuclear utilities, EPC contractors, NSSS suppliers, or under NRC or equivalent oversight.Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or qualification of safety-related or high-reliability components.Familiarity with international nuclear projects and cross-cultural business environments.Familiarity with Japanese business culture is a plus.
