Inorganic Ventures does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.Work Location: This position currently supports a hybrid work arrangement once the training period is completed.SummaryThe Product Stewardship and Export Compliance Specialist serves as the company's internalsubject matter expert on chemical regulatory compliance and export control requirements.This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, andinternational chemical regulations, as well as U.S. export control laws. The role overseeshazard classification, regulatory reporting, and federal and state chemical complianceactivities, and provides expertise in export classification determinations.AuthorityThe Product Stewardship and Export Compliance Specialist has the authority to perform alltasks and duties as assigned herein. Authority is also granted for the following: Create, edit,review, and approve policy, procedures, and work instructions; raise compliance risks toTop ManagementAuthority to stop work: This authority permits any employee at any level to halt a job ortask when a hazardous situation appears imminent, or they feel unsafe.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as a subject matter expert for internal and external regulatory compliancematters (e.g., commercial and logistics processes, staff training, vendor interactions,and customer complaints)Oversee the company's compliance with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS)requirements regarding labels, SDSs, and other related paperwork that accompaniesour products.Work closely with the SDS Software Administrator to review, update, and maintainSDS templates and formats to ensure continued regulatory compliance and systemaccuracy.Remain up to date on federal and state laws related to the organization and updatepolicies accordingly.Conduct compliance audits to evaluate adherence to established policies and identifyopportunities for improvementOversee the maintenance and retention of regulatory reports, registrations, permits,and applications for sameDevelop and implement an export compliance program to ensure the organizationoperates in accordance with state and federal laws.Utilize the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) for export control and be able toassign appropriate ECCNs for export compliance.Prepare and submit U.S. export license applications and approvals as required;collaborate with Logistics to ensure appropriate export declarations, documentation,and physical marking requirements are applied to all export shipments.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,and/or ability required.Required –Bachelor's Degree in the field of science, or a combination of experience andeducation to successfully perform the essential functions of the positionSignificant to expert knowledge of foreign export laws and regulations, particularly,U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Export Control ClassificationNumbers (ECCN)Significant to expert knowledge of major federal regulations such as, IMERC, PFSA,TSCA, PHMSA, EPCRA, OSHA, etc.Ability to approach problem solving using innovative ideas and a broad perspectiveAbility to collaborate effectively with other stakeholders with diverse viewpointsExperience creating and training others on policies and proceduresAbility to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals to include internationaland domestic customersExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsPC proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMust have, or be willing to obtain, an Export Compliance Professional (ECoP)Travel Requirement:If remote, some travel to the company's site will be requiredPreferred –5+ years of relevant experience in import/export compliance in the hazardouschemical industry.Holds current certification for 49-CFR and IATA dangerous goods transportationInorganic Ventures reserves the right to modify job duties at any time, and this job description is not designed to cover every responsibility required of the employee.
