In this position, we are seeking someone who can maintain and enhance multiple Posit deployments (Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager), ensuring the infrastructure remains functional and available to support critical public health analytics. As a Posit System Administrator, you'll constantly look for ways to make the data science infrastructure better using the latest technology and best implementation strategies. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement of mission-critical systems, working closely with technical, network, platform, functional, and customer support teams as a dedicated Posit specialist.ResponsibilitiesLead install, configure, and maintain Posit Workbench, Posit Connect, and Posit Package Manager across multiple deploymentsManage complex R, Python, and system dependencies in Linux environments while coordinating between technical teamsProvide user support, triage technical issues, and deliver best-practice guidance for R, Python, and Shiny developmentPerform system hardening and security compliance activities following DoD STIGs and SRGsMonitor system performance, manage user access and authentication, and support backup and disaster recovery proceduresQualifications5+ years of experience with systems administration in Linux environments, including system management, application patching, and optimization3+ years of experience administering Posit products (Workbench, Connect, Package Manager)Experience creating and managing R and Python packagesExperience with vulnerability scanning tools such as SCC, Nessus, or ACASExperience with multiple IDEs including RStudio, VS Code, and Jupyter Labs/NotebookKnowledge of system hardening using DoD Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures for critical systemsAbility to install, update, and manage complex R, Python, and system dependencies in LinuxPossession of one of the following certifications: Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, SecurityX, CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, or GFAACTBachelor's degreeAdditional QualificationsExperience with Kubernetes and Azure Container Registry for containerized deploymentsExperience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux systemsExperience developing with frameworks like Dash, Streamlit, Bokeh, Flask, or ShinyExperience with automation and scripting tools (Bash, Python, Ansible)Experience managing networks using Cisco switchesKnowledge of Hyper-V or VMware vSphere for virtual machine managementKnowledge of authentication systems (LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, SAML)Knowledge of common data science Python and R libraries (tidyverse, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)Security RequirementsMust be US Citizen and with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (Public Trust 5) within a reasonable periodMarket competitive salary, commensurate with experience and educationComprehensive benefits package available, Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), 401K with company match, growth, and promotion opportunitiesEqual OpportunityWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledJ-18808-Ljbffr
