Fleet Maintenance Technician II The City of Roanoke is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Fleet Maintenance Technician II to perform skilled mechanical work on specialized construction and automotive equipment. The successful candidate will diagnose, adjust, repair and service a wide variety of medium and heavy automotive and specialized equipment including diesel or gasoline engine equipment, air compressors, pump apparatus and aerial truck hydraulic systems and overhaul, fabricate and service assemblies and accessories such as single and two speed rear axles, multi-speed transmissions, and hydraulic compressed air, vacuum and electric controls, systems and components. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and/or training in repairing automotive and light/heavy power-driven equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to qualify for certification as a State Inspector. Must have a Class B CDL. Two ASE certifications required within 1 year of employment. State Inspection license & Class B CDL preferred.
