Team members join a collaborative environment that emphasizes client success and professional development.Role Description The Transportation Engineer role at TopGrads is a full-time, on-site position based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area. In this role, the engineer will support the planning, design, and analysis of transportation facilities and systems, including roadways, highways, and intersections. Daily responsibilities may include preparing design plans and technical reports, performing traffic and transportation analyses, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The Transportation Engineer will also assist with project documentation, contribute to proposals, and help identify improvements to safety, efficiency, and mobility in the transportation network.Qualifications Strong foundation in Transportation Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles to real-world transportation systems.Skills in Transportation Planning, including demand analysis, multimodal considerations, and evaluation of network performance.Proficiency in Highway Design and Roadway Design, including alignment, cross-section development, and safety-focused geometric design.Competence in Traffic Engineering, including traffic operations analysis, signal timing, capacity analysis, and safety studies.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering is a plus.Familiarity with relevant design standards and guidelines (e.g., AASHTO, MUTCD) and common transportation/traffic analysis tools.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Ability to work on-site, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
