Commercial Litigation Attorney (In-House)

We are a fast-growing financial services and Revenue-Based Financing firm expanding our in-house legal department. Our team funds and supports thousands of small businesses nationwide, and our legal group plays a critical role in protecting the company through smart, efficient commercial litigation and judgment enforcement. This is an opportunity to join a business-minded legal team — not a traditional law firm — where you will gain hands-on courtroom experience, manage your own cases, and quickly grow into full ownership of a litigation docket. The role will initially work under the supervision and mentorship of the internal General Counsel and is expected to transition into independently managing a full caseload and court appearances. Why Join Us: In-house role with real courtroom experience (not document review) Direct mentorship from General Counsel Fast growth and increasing responsibility High ownership and autonomy Collaborative team environment Opportunity to build deep expertise in commercial litigation and creditor’s rights Key Responsibilities Draft, sign, and file Summons & Complaints Manage assigned litigation matters from filing through judgment and post-judgment enforcement Draft and file routine motions, including default judgments, motions to compel, and enforcement applications Conduct post-judgment recovery efforts, including asset discovery, bank and third-party restraints, subpoenas, and other enforcement remedies Handle turnover motions, executions, and levies Communicate and negotiate directly with opposing counsel to resolve cases efficiently Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and motions as needed Track litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with New York court rules File pleadings and motions via NYSCEF Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and collections teams to maximize recoveries Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school Admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar (required) Authorized to independently sign pleadings and appear in court Strong legal writing, research, and motion practice skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Comfortable handling a high-volume litigation caseload Self-starter with a practical, business-oriented mindset Preferred (Not Required but Strongly Valued) Litigation, collections, or creditor’s rights experience Familiarity with CPLR and New York court procedures Experience with NYSCEF Experience negotiating settlements or structured payment plans Experience with commercial debt, UCC enforcement, or business contract litigation Familiarity with Revenue-Based Financing and/or Business Loan disputes Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
