The role involves overseeing a histology department and assisting with training, scheduling, budgeting, etc. Responsibilities: Staff Supervision: Oversee and mentor histotechnologists, histology technicians, and support staff. Schedule and assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and professional development opportunities.Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure high standards of quality control and quality assurance in all laboratory procedures. Develop, implement, and monitor protocols for tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.Operational Management: Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample accessioning, processing, and documentation. Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set by OSHA, CLIA, CAP, and other relevant agencies. Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections and audits.Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science. ASCP certification or equivalent. Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Histology experience. Histology leadership experience preferred. Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
