Location: Spartanburg, South CarolinaAbout: Seeking a skilled Histology leader to join our healthcare team. The role involves overseeing a histology department and assisting with training, scheduling, budgeting, etc.Responsibilities: Staff Supervision:Oversee and mentor histotechnologists, histology technicians, and support staff.Schedule and assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and professional development opportunities.Quality Control and Assurance:Ensure high standards of quality control and quality assurance in all laboratory procedures.Develop, implement, and monitor protocols for tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.Operational Management:Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample accessioning, processing, and documentation.Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set by OSHA, CLIA, CAP, and other relevant agencies.Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections and audits. Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science.ASCP certification or equivalent.Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications:Histology experience.Histology leadership experience preferred.Familiarity with laboratory information systems.Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
