About the JobEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Provide line of sight supervision to clients and skill building psycho-educational and/or support groups.Complete house related chores as assigned.Provide and facilitate educational and non-substantive counseling groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client's records.Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through completing all required training.Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary.Maintain active participation with the clients at all times.Prepare and monitor medication administration then document all details in KIPU.Document clients' daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in KIPU.Open communication with staff, therapists, and Executive Director.Assist the Educational Director during designated school times, with education related activities and monitoring of the client's computer internet use.Encourage client's participation in all daily activities and promote positive interactions among peers.Carry out other responsibilities as delegated.Expectations:DEPENDABILITY - Employee can be counted on to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with little supervision. Accepts responsibility when necessary to see that the job gets done.ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY - Is prompt and on time for work, assignments and meetings. Notifies supervisor prior to lateness or absence. Understands that excess absences pose a hardship on other employees.JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE - Employee completes all chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner.Employee works cooperatively with other community resources and referral sources to coordinate services to clients.QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF WORK - Cares about the quality and accuracy of work being produced. Accepts responsibility for completing job tasks. Uses time productively and efficiently.ATTITUDE - Demonstrates a cooperative, positive, and enthusiastic attitude toward fellow employees, clients and visitors. Maintains a positive attitude in carrying out assignments and is helpful and courteous to fellow employees.CONFIDENTIALITY - Know and always follows confidentiality law and procedures.COMMUNICATION SKILLS-Is effective in written and oral expression. Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette and able to communicate easily with clients, referral sources, and visitors in an appropriate manner. Relates to clients and co-workers in a respectful and professional manner.CONDUCT - Conducts oneself in a manner consistent with the agency's code of ethics and code of conduct. Shows professionalism in office setting. Compliance with the company's dress code and electronic policy is mandatory.FLEXIBILITY / HANDLING EMERGENCIES - Responds well to changing situations or routines. Handles crisis situations calmly and professionally. Ability to respond positively and efficiently to requirements which necessitate shifting priorities, changing direction. Follow-through and follow-up on assignments.Judgement: Ability to reason intelligently, reach conclusions logically, and exercise common sense; ability to discern the appropriateness of pursuing or conceding an issue.Accountability: Keeps promises and honors commitments, including client and internal deadlines.Required Skills/Abilities:Minimum of one year of relevant experience.First aid and CPR certification (we will pay for you to obtain if you don't currently have this).Current drivers' license and clear DMV record.Good verbal and written communication skills.Basic Computer skills i.e. internet, email, and Word.Must be able to lift and carry light objects and parcels as an incidental part of their job.Education and Experience:Possesses a High School diploma or GED.Minimum of 1-year experience in the social services field preferred.Demonstrates a genuine desire to work with the population served.Knowledge:A knowledge of regulations concerning of mental health treatment.Working knowledge of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and treatment procedures for such illnesses.Physical Requirements:Frequent sitting must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.Must be able to lift and carry light objects and parcels as an incidental part of their job.The position needs to occasionally move about inside and outside the facility frequently.Constantly operates a computer with other office machinery.Frequently communicates with other employees and clients.Must be able to travel between assigned facilities via car.Note: Research shows that women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds often apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications.
