This is an opportunity for a dependable security professional who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibility in a fast-paced, public-facing transit environment. *Pay:* $22.95–$26.95/hour *Employment Type:* Full-Time & Part-Time *Location:* San Pedro, CA *Position:* Unarmed Transit Security Supervisor What You'll Do As a Transit Security Supervisor, you will help oversee day-to-day security operations while supporting Security Officers in maintaining a safe, professional, and secure environment for employees, passengers, visitors, and the public. Responsibilities may include: * Provide day-to-day direction and support to assigned Security Officers * Help ensure officers are properly positioned, prepared, and following assigned post orders * Monitor officer performance, professionalism, attendance, and post coverage * Maintain a visible supervisory security presence throughout assigned areas * Conduct routine patrols and security inspections * Monitor transit areas, facilities, entrances, exits, and surrounding property * Assist with coordinating coverage for breaks, call-offs, and other staffing needs * Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and calls for assistance * Provide guidance to officers during incidents and escalate concerns when appropriate * Support crowd management and the maintenance of safe and orderly public areas * Use professional communication and de-escalation techniques * Review and complete incident reports, security logs, and other required documentation * Communicate significant incidents, staffing concerns, and security issues to appropriate leadership * Assist with access control and restricted areas as assigned * Ensure established security procedures and post orders are consistently followed * Provide professional customer service to employees, passengers, visitors, and members of the public Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: * Have a *valid California Guard Card* * Have a *High School Diploma or GED* * Have a *valid Pepper Spray/OC Permit* * Have reliable transportation * Be able to successfully complete required background and pre-employment screening * Communicate effectively verbally and in writing * Be comfortable working in a public-facing environment * Demonstrate strong judgment, professionalism, and leadership skills * Be able to remain composed and provide direction during security incidents * Meet all applicable licensing and certification requirements for the position *Baton Permit preferred.* What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate: * Strong leadership and decision-making skills * Ability to provide clear direction and support to Security Officers * Strong situational awareness * Professionalism and dependability * Excellent customer service and communication skills * Sound judgment in fast-moving situations * Conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills * Ability to interact professionally with a diverse public * Strong observation and report-writing skills * Ability to follow and reinforce established security procedures Previous experience in *security, transit, public safety, military service, or law enforcement* is a plus.
