Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Integrations team within the Information Technology organization. This role is critical to designing, developing, and supporting scalable, reliable data integration solutions that power essential business operations.You will take ownership of data pipeline architecture, integration design, and long-term system optimization across a complex ecosystem supporting 200+ active data processes running at varying cadences. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and engineering peers to ensure data is accurate, timely, and actionable.What You’ll DoDesign and build scalable, robust data integrationsTranslate business requirements into system designs and technical architecturesDeliver long-term, maintainable solutions using modern ETL/ELT and iPaaS platformsDevelop and maintain data pipelinesDesign, develop, and support fault-tolerant data pipelines for structured and unstructured dataSupport both real-time and batch data ingestion and transformationsIntegration & Platform DevelopmentImplement integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, and messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)Work with integration and data platforms including Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and SnapLogic (or similar iPaaS tools)Data Engineering & OptimizationModel, optimize, and tune relational and analytical data systemsTroubleshoot and debug complex data issues across pipelines and platformsPerform SQL query optimization and performance tuning to ensure reliability and efficiencyOperational SupportProvide ongoing support for a large portfolio of production data processes supporting critical business functionsEnsure high availability, observability, and operational excellenceCollaboration & LeadershipPartner with Business Analysts, BI teams, and stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutionsMaintain documentation including data flows, architecture diagrams, and integration patternsMentor junior engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and troubleshootingLead proofs of concept (POCs) to evaluate tools and architectural improvementsAutomation & DevOpsLeverage CI/CD pipelines and version control for data and integration deploymentsDevelop automation scripts using Python and PowerShellImplement best practices for data governance, security, access control, compliance, and auditingYou’ll Thrive in This Role If You AreDeadline-driven: You consistently deliver high-quality work on timeHighly organized: You manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdaptable: You respond confidently to shifting priorities and evolving requirementsAccountable: You take ownership of designs, outcomes, and continuous improvementCollaborative: You value teamwork and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiencesRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience with:Azure Data FactoryAzure SQL (and related Azure SQL offerings)SSIS or equivalent ETL toolsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related fieldStrong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and data transformation techniquesExperience with data architecture and system design, including scalable integration patternsPython and/or PowerShell scripting experienceStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skillsExperience working with enterprise data pipelines and production systemsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsDemonstrated ability to continuously learn and adapt to new tools and technologiesPreferred QualificationsExperience with modern data platforms such as:Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similarExperience with iPaaS tools such as SnapLogic, TIBCO, Adeptia, or comparable platformsFamiliarity with Azure services such as Logic Apps, Functions, Data Lake, and Blob StorageExperience building shared frameworks for logging, monitoring, and data qualityExperience mentoring engineers or contributing to technical standards and roadmapsRelevant cloud or data certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer)Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry (technical or non-technical roles)This role is paying 140-150k annually depending on experience, education and other relevant factors.
