Director, Account Team

KONTEK Systems Inc. is a design/build audiovisual integration firm headquartered in Durham, North Carolina. KONTEK is a small, hardworking, engineering centered, employee-owned company. For 35 years, we’ve provided our educational, medical, and corporate clients with cutting-edge AV technologies, concept designs, system engineering and programming, installation, custom feature and millwork integration, and long-term support for all their AV needs.
Overview:
The Director, Account Team is responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve sales targets in the AV industry. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction with AV products and solutions. The Director, Account Team must possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of AV technologies, and the ability to drive business growth.
Position Description:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets, revenue growth, profitability, and business objectives.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
Prepare and manage sales forecasts and budgets.
Team Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to ensure high performance and achievement of sales goals.
Manage daily workflow so opportunities and proposals move smoothly through the account team process and are delivered to clients in a timely fashion.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.
Recruit, train, and onboard new sales team members.
As a member of the leadership team, contribute to the long-term strategy for the company and provide input into the day-to-day running of the company
Drive excellence throughout the organization including the account team
Client Relationship Management:
Lead the account team to create strong client-for-life relationships.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Oversee the negotiation and closing of major deals and contracts.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client concerns and providing effective solutions.
Product and Market Knowledge:
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of AV products, services, and industry trends.
In conjunction with our Design Team, provide clients with detailed information and recommendations on AV solutions.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
Monitor and report on sales performance metrics and KPIs.
Utilize CRM systems to manage sales activities and customer information.
Ensure compliance with company policies, our proven process, and industry regulations.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
5 years technical sales experience
Have a strong knowledge of AV industry experience and skills in sales and AV technologies
Cold calling, prospecting and referral-based business development experience
Experience with Strategic Planning and Implementation
