Small Group Journeys Travel Consultant

Job Description:Position Summary:The Small Group Journey Travel Consultant is responsible for selling all Abercrombie & Kent group programs.Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Meet or exceed established sales goalsAssist guests and Travel Advisors with all group programs, pre/post accommodations, upgrades and limited custom extensions in combination with the group programEnsure all Travel Studio booking details are complete and accurate in accordance with department guidelinesMaximize conversions by following up on Option bookings in established time frameDemonstrate competency of product knowledgeMeet or exceed established A&K Sales & Service standardsCollaborate with Sales Assistants to ensure booking details are finalized in a timely mannerCollaborate with Documentation team to ensure seamless transition and continuity related to sales and documentationCollaborate with all other internal departments to facilitate booking process and salesMaintain up to date knowledge of current product offerings by attending regularly scheduled department meetings and training/product briefing sessionsAssist Guest Relations on post tour issues to ensure guest satisfaction is maintainedMake recommendations for process, procedure and technology improvementsSales projects as determined by managementSkills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on telephone salesDetail oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to multitaskStrong geographic, destination, cultural and world affairs knowledgeIntermediate computer skills required (Microsoft Office) and ability to quickly master new technologiesGood judgment and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a team environmentExcellent inter-personal skillsMust be able to read/write/speak in EnglishForeign language skills preferredEducation and Additional ExperienceAssociate or bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent job experienceHigh School diploma requiredTwo years travel industry experience preferredSales experience preferredKnowledge of world geography preferredSpecial RequirementsEvening, weekend and approved overtime may be requiredInternational travel may be required (and maintain a current passport)Salary Range$43,000 - $46,000; with additional earning potential through sales incentives.BenefitsA&K offers a large portfolio of competitive benefits to all eligible, full-time employees.
