Machine Operator
Castechnologies is a metal casting organization, that manufactures precise and high-quality parts for various industries. We are seeking to add a machine operator to our team.
Position Summary
Safely operate a casting machine and/or various machines for performing hand work such as cutting, polishing, deburring, tapping and other activities related to manufacturing. Potential to learn and operate a CNC machine depending ability, dependability, and attentiveness.
Responsibilities
Remove gates, sprues and other projections from castings
Notify Lead and correct any defects as permissible, if possible according to specifications
Work with other departments to notify of processes that did not turn out correct and to stop any future jobs from being affected
Follow oral and written instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects
Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
Work as a team within department and with other departments and Leads
Ensure work area is clean and safe
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. pressure)
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
Perform handwork (such as, deburring, sanding, grinding, cutting, etc…)
Perform foundry fills as required.
Perform maintenance on machines as instructed.
Fix issues that might occur during the shift
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Other duties may be assigned as needed, this is not a complete list
Requirements
Be on time and at your station ready to work when your shift starts.
Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
Teamwork and communication skills
Physical Demands
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
· Must be able to occasionally lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
· Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large piece
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment including loud noise levels (at times), heat, dirt, and dust; safety shoes, and safety glasses are a must
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $17.25 per hour
