Electrical Technician

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician 2 Pay Rate: $23 to $26/HR Duration: 5 months Location: Johnson City, TN Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM This position is for the Building Automation division. We are looking for Electrical Engineering Technician 2 Participates in assembling prototypes and ensures proper interaction of components. Participates in engineering-related studies, processes, designs, inspections, and quality tests. Provides support with testing and troubleshooting in a variety of engineering tasks. Supports the gathering, recording, and maintaining engineering-specific information. Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to report and solve them. Supports the preparation of technical reports and analysis of technical issues. Ability to understand standards, specifications, and other documents to implement assigned tasks. Works independently and collaboratively with colleagues to resolve complex issues. Implement quality and process improvements. Requirements: Education: Associate of Science degree in Electrical / Electronics Technology or equivalent. 3 to 5 years of experience in related electronic hardware design/test environment. PCB level-based experience with electronics. Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics and datasheets. Able to proficiently operate electronic measurement and analysis lab equipment (for example, oscilloscope, meters, analyzers, power supplies). Able to wire and set up test equipment. Perform testing in a development lab environment and perform hardware fault insertion testing. Electronic component-level soldering experience. Knowledge and ability to program automation control equipment (PLC). Demonstrates good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Attention to detail, accuracy in reporting, and focus on work tasks. Excellent technical writing skills. Problem-solving/debugging skills. Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Familiarity with the design of Programmable Logic Controllers Input / Output devices and Central Processing Units. Use and proficiency with Automation engineering systems (TIA Portal) is a plus- including fundamental LAD and SCL language programming. Familiar with safety-related standards or processes. Use and proficiency with schematic capture tools.
