Lead Product Manager
Overview
Lead Product Manager for a contract assignment with a premier Financial Services client in Tysons, VA or Rockville, MD. Remote options may be available. The role focuses on leading a productivity assessment of the Microsoft Office Work Suite with AI versus the Google Work Suite with AI, to inform executive direction on future deployment, timing, and roadmap.
Responsibilities
User Insight & Product Definition
Develop a deep understanding of the business and product areas within the product group and relevant data to inform key decisions.
Define multiple products and/or complex products, identifying gaps and user needs through vision, strategy, and requirements documents.
Utilize available data or commission new research to identify user needs.
Perform experiments and organize primary research to uncover additional user value.
Product Portfolio Management
Develop, manage, and own the product roadmap for multiple products and/or complex products.
Make trade-off decisions across products in a product group.
Demonstrate expertise across products to facilitate discovery and drive enterprise capabilities.
Build partnerships with relevant stakeholders and coordinate with interdependent teams, influencing leadership to drive efficiencies.
Foster working relationships with business and product stakeholders, UI/UX, architecture, and technology teams to enable product and user success.
Participate in the intake process for the product domain.
Product Planning & Prioritization
Lead the product planning process across multiple products, developing requirements documents (user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases).
Maintain a prioritized backlog based on user value and resource capacity; use data/analytics to prioritize backlog.
Collaborate with UI/UX to shape the user experience direction.
Determine and monitor release goals, prioritization, implementation, and iteration plans based on user value.
Resolve problems escalated during the process.
Product Development
Facilitate development by reviewing demos with the tech team and validating acceptance criteria.
Provide UX/UI approval for the assigned products.
Track development work and resolve escalated issues and bugs.
Identify risks to on-time delivery or quality, assess alternatives, and coordinate resolution with leadership.
Launch
Lead large and complex product launches with stakeholders to develop launch plans.
Identify and resolve blockers that may delay launches; coordinate formal UAT where necessary.
Develop product documentation and training materials for users; track launch metrics and drive iterations based on feedback.
Lead post-launch reviews and integrate feedback into future releases.
Operate
Collaborate with internal and external teams and users to identify, classify, and resolve product issues.
Identify innovative methods and metrics to track product success; work with the tech team to improve reports and monitoring.
Monitor metrics with stakeholder teams; track performance trends and gather user feedback to identify gaps and opportunities.
Represent the team in product group-level discussions with stakeholders and provide input for business cases and strategy.
Attend business reviews and contribute expert insights for new product development.
Team Development & Continuous Improvement
Provide coaching to junior product managers and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to establish best practices.
Apply industry trends, research, and best practices in technology and product management.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
7 years of experience in product management, project management, business analysis, program management, or product marketing.
5 years of experience in product and/or experience management.
2 years of experience with Microsoft and Google Workspace AI products, services, and capabilities.
Strong writing ability and business acumen.
Experience with Agile software development.
Experience working cross-functionally in a large organization and with senior leadership.
Experience translating data into quantifiable actions and deliverables.
Preferred Skills
Master's Degree in Business Administration or similar advanced degree.
CSPO Certification.
Experience in the Financial Services industry.
Strong financial acumen and leadership collaboration with senior leadership.
Experience guiding cross-functional resources.
