Job Overview
Lyons Optometry is a well-established private optometry practice dedicated to excellent patient care. We are seeking a full time Front Desk Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people, values a clean and organized work environment, and wants to be part of a small, collaborative practice. The ideal candidate can multi-task, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced patient care environment.
Experience in optometry, optical healthcare setting is preferred. We are seeking a candidate with relevant experience; however, we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Answer and direct patient phone calls in a friendly and professional manner
Respond to emails and text messages using our practice communication systems
Schedule, confirm, and adjust patient appointments
Assist with patient check-in and check-out
Manage frame inventory tasks, including:
Adding new eyewear frames into inventory
Keeping eyewear displays tidy and organized
Participating in quarterly physical inventory counts
Provide general front-office and administrative support as needed
Skills
Required:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and manage time well in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using computers, email, and basic office applications
Professional appearance and patient-friendly demeanor
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained
Preferred:
Experience in optometry, optical settings
Prior reception or customer service experience
Familiarity with scheduling software or office management tools
