Bartender / Shift Supervisor

We're looking for a Bartender / Shift Supervisor who can hold their own behind the bar and step into a leadership role when it counts.About the role:This is a dual-function role for someone who is equally comfortable shaking cocktails and running a room. You'll spend the majority of your time behind the bar delivering a great guest experience, while also taking on supervisory responsibilities — overseeing the floor, supporting your teammates, and ensuring the shift runs smoothly from open to close.What you'll do:Execute behind the bar. Craft cocktails, manage your well, and deliver consistent, high-quality service during high-volume shifts — speed and precision are equally expected.Own the flow of service. Manage pacing and communication across FOH to keep service moving — stepping in wherever the shift needs you.Support and guide the team. Provide real-time direction to floor staff, set the standard for hospitality, and hold the team accountable when needed.Champion the guest experience. Engage with guests proactively, resolve issues with poise, and ensure every interaction reflects the Tara Rose standard.Support private events and programming. Help execute buyouts, parties, and special events — from setup to breakdown — with the same energy as any regular service.Uphold operational standards. Assist with opening and closing procedures, monitor compliance with health and liquor regulations, and keep the bar and floor running tight.Handle shift reporting and cash. Assist with end-of-shift reconciliation, log any incidents or issues, and communicate needs to ownership or management.What we're looking for:2+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant environmentSupervisory or management experience preferred — you've led people before and it showsSolid cocktail knowledge and the ability to execute under pressure without sacrificing qualityNatural communicator — confident with guests, clear with teammates, and composed when things get busyFamiliarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic bar operationsTIPS certification and/or Food Handler's Certification a plusLocation: New York City - Onsite. Full-time.Compensation: Competitive, base salary + tips.
