Survey Designer – AutoCAD (Utilities / Telecom)Location: Hampton, VA 23666Schedule: Onsite – 100% in officePay Rate: $20–25hrAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Survey Designer to support utility and telecom projects for a major energy client. This role works closely with field survey crews and internal design teams to convert field data into accurate ground layout and basemap drawings using AutoCAD and Carlson Survey.You will be office‑based, collaborating daily with surveyors and designers to support ongoing infrastructure projects.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesProcess survey data received from field crews using AutoCAD and Carlson SurveyCreate topographic survey basemaps, ground layout drawings, and easement exhibitsDevelop accurate base maps to support utility and telecom design workCollaborate closely with survey crews, designers, and project leadershipSupport multiple active projects tied to energy and telecom infrastructureAssist with field work as needed based on project demands Required Skills & Experience2+ years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD or Carlson SurveyStrong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionallyAbility to pass a background check, motor vehicle report, and drug test Preferred / Nice to Have2+ years of experience in land survey draftingExperience supporting telecom or underground utility projectsExposure to GISExperience creating easement exhibits and survey deliverablesTeam EnvironmentSmall, collaborative survey team (two 2‑person field crews)Works hand‑in‑hand with internal design teamsPrimary stakeholders include local survey leadership and design partners
