Material Handler

Under the direction of the Department Supervisor/Inventory Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for safe movements of all material in the manufacturing warehouse. The Material Handler will also ensure both physical and systematic movements are executed anytime material/parts are moving from one location to another. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Works with peers to coordinate movement assembled parts and/or products to the next step operation Performs picking/pulling transactions via Scanner. Unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies. Works with Accounting / Shipping to resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies. Verifies that materials are received in accordance with packing slips and Purchase Orders (POs). Consolidates and organizes of all stocked materials and makes space for incoming materials. Advise Inventory personnel on items missing identification. Follows safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required Maintains equipment and work areas; cleans and performs basic repairs as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Travel None Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required Possess basic arithmetic skills Possess knowledge of personal computers skills. Minimum of 1 year of experience using RF Scanners. Minimum of 1 year of experience operating Stand-up/Sit-down Forklifts, Electrical Pallet Jack, and Cherry Picker. Uses equipment to lift or move sheets of metal, felt and other material. Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (i.e., ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and lifting of material). Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiatives. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operating stand-up forklift, Electrical Pallet Jack, Cherry Picker and Sit-Down forklift. Office Environment - This position may operate in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines in a limited capacity. No PPE is required. Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty/dirty conditions. Where applicable PPE is required. PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
