Specialist - Instructional Support
Technical Assistance And Training Specialist Provide effective and efficient technical assistance and training to ESC clients for the development and implementation of federal, state, and local programs to improve the performance of students. Job requires frequent in-region and occasional out-of-region travel, occasional prolonged and irregular hours.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's DegreeValid Texas Teaching Certificate with endorsement in area of assignment or appropriate license/certification.Minimum of five years of teaching experienceMaster's Degree preferredExperience/background in the following is preferred: Secondary Teaching - Science and/or History, Research Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS), and Instructional CoachingKnowledge/Skills: A demonstrated track record of success improving student outcomes in a teacher, campus leader, or district leader roleAn in-depth knowledge of instructional leadership practices that lead to improved teaching and learningAn in-depth knowledge and content expertise, specific to roleContent knowledge of elementary and/or secondary TEKS as appropriate to audiencesAbility to design, deliver, and facilitate high-quality professional development for adult audiences, both in person and virtuallyAbility to connect with diverse audiences and understand complex and unique circumstances in order to support growth among individuals and across regions/districtsAbility to coach, model and provide feedback on performanceHighly organized; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlinesAttention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in diverse environmentAbility to break down complex information into comprehensive parts, ask questions, synthesize and analyzeAbility to influence others to achieve outcomes, both within and outside formal management structuresCollaborative and results-orientedExcellent written and oral communication skillsEmerging expertise in virtual platforms and virtual facilitation to ensure the continued ability to meet district needDemonstrates a growth mindset, desire to self-reflect, give/receive feedback and continuously improveStrong sense of personal accountability; takes initiative to meet ambitious goalsBuilds strong relationships without compromising outcomesKnowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office, Google, video conferencing tools, and multimedia equipment.Essential Functions: Designs, delivers, and/or facilitates job-embedded professional development for relevant clients at district, school, or classroom level, including:Whole-group trainings that build a shared understanding of skills, practices, or systems and include opportunities for practiceSupport for participants implementing a new skill, practice, or system within their context, including co-planning, observation, and real-time feedbackOne-on-one coaching sessions that identify participant successes and develop their capacity to improve high-leverage areas of growthTechnical assistance that provides direct, responsive training or support to individuals or small groups around compliance, systems, or state requirementsPartners closely with classroom/school to assess areas in need of capacity building and to develop intentional scope and sequences of professional development aimed at effectively addressing those growth areasEffectively supports stakeholders to analyze data to drive instructional growth (at relevant classroom/school) by identifying areas of strength and opportunity as applicable for their role and contextContributes to the scaling and aligning of best practices in instruction and/or instructional leadership with other individuals, teams, or departments.Contributes to building and strengthening the culture of individual teams and the entire Academic Services DepartmentComplies with federal and state laws, State Board of Education Rules, and ESC board policy and proceduresAll positions at ESC 3 are defined as security-sensitive.
