Front Desk Receptionist
Job Summary
(Will Require 1 to 2 days a week at the Clarksville location)
Responsible for greeting patients and families; collecting accurate demographic; insurance and all other billing information to perform check in; scanning and filing; answering phone calls, and performing any other duties necessary to provide efficient, timely services to the patients, their families and providers—while providing exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Greets patients and answers the phone in a courteous and professional manner.
· Ensures accurate and thorough documentation and completion of all necessary paperwork.
· Collects and scans/copies insurance cards and other pertinent documents.
· Ensures accurate and timely collection of co-pays, self-pays, and other patient balances.
· Keeps patients, technologists and/or manager informed with regard to patient flow.
· Maintains an organized and clean work and reception area.
· Provides and collects all necessary HIPAA documentation to patients.
· Follows all HIPAA, compliance, privacy and confidentiality standards.
· Provides thorough and accurate information to all callers. Communicates appropriate preparation(s) and other information in a clear, concise manner.
· Ensures efficient and accurate data entry into the PM and EHR system for each patient.
· Communicates service delays to all involved (including the patient) with regard to the wait time metric.
· Ensures patient jackets are complete with all necessary documentation and information prior to filing.
· Performs professionally in difficult customer/referring physician situations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· A minimum of 3 years of experience within a large medical office practice.
· Previous customer service experience or other medical office experience with communication to patients.
· Excellent customer service skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, EMR/PM systems.
· Ability to exercise judgment and independence to provide services necessary to meet the patient and their family’s/guests’ needs.
· Must be able to type accurately with precise data entry skills.
· Ability to schedule and register patients rapidly and accurately.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
· Detail oriented, and organized.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Frequently dealing with staff or patients in a one on one environment. Work hours are Monday through Friday during business hours usually between 7:30 AM and 5:30 P.M; schedule may vary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
