Middle School Attendance Clerk/Receptionist

PRIMARY PURPOSE:Provide clerical and administrative support to the principal, asst. principal and teaching staffEnsure that the office operates in a consistently organized manner every dayCoordinate appropriate documents for communication with the district officeMaintain recordkeeping for students and staffMaintain student and staff confidentiality in all circumstancesTrack attendance and absences; use reporting software/generate reportsCommunicate effectively with a variety of district and community officialsUse common computer hardware and software efficientlyPerform data entryPerform general office duties such as answering telephone inquiries, filing, spreadsheetsDisplay strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsCarry out assigned tasks with minimal direct supervisionProvide services for teachers, administrators and students like typing, proofreading, and editingMaintain the integrity of information systems, databases, and office filesPrepare and circulate communication documentsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificateEducation/Certifications: Para Professional Certification or Associate's degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learningValid Texas education aide certificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. Ability to work well with children.
