Forge St., Akron, OH 44304 Job Type: Long-Term Assignment (Full-Time – 40 hrs/week) Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4x10-hour shifts) On-Call: Yes Start: ASAP (Critical Order) Bill Rate: $69.00/hour Position Overview: Under the supervision of the surgical team, the Surgical Technician provides essential support during surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, ensuring availability of sterile instruments and supplies, and functioning as a scrub technician throughout procedures. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and set up operating rooms with required surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies Assist surgeons during procedures as a scrub technician Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols Operate sterilizers and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments Adjust operating tables and equipment as needed during procedures Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Ensure proper cleaning and restocking of operating rooms post-procedure Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, and patients Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (NBSTSA preferred) Recent operating room experience required Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques Preferred Experience: Experience in one or more of the following specialties: Orthopedic Trauma Neuro Surgery Spine Surgery Gynecology Urology Key Competencies: Strong understanding of surgical principles and sterile techniques Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and patient safety Ability to adapt to changing clinical environments and demands Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist with patient handling Surgical Technician (Surg Tech) – OR About Encode INC At Encode, we empower organizations and individuals through innovative, human-centric workforce and technology solutions.
