Our team includes professionals in civil engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, and field services — all driven by a shared commitment to the communities we serve.As our energy practice expands rapidly across the region, we are looking for a Project Manager with a strong civil site development background to lead energy infrastructure projects — while also supporting our established Land Development team. This role sits at the intersection of two growing practice areas: utility-scale energy development (solar, storage, substations, and utility corridors) and a broad portfolio of public and private land development work including commercial, residential, industrial, and recreational projects.We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team and manage projects from concept to completion — with energy infrastructure as a primary focus.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead civil site design for utility-scale energy projects including solar farms, substations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and utility corridors.Oversee preparation of permitting and construction plans for energy infrastructure and land development projects, including design, layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, access roads, and E&S controls.Perform or review calculations for design, grade lines, alignments, and drainage.Coordinate with energy developers, utilities, agencies, and equipment vendors throughout the project life cycle.Manage permitting efforts across federal, state, and local regulatory bodies for energy site development and land development projects.Prepare detailed project cost estimates.Assist clients with bidding and construction administration.Work with construction inspection personnel and review daily field reports to ensure that contracted work accomplishes the intent of the contract documents.Coordinate and maintain all aspects of project management including client communication, financial management, and internal/external team coordination.Mentor and develop junior staff.Participate in business development activities including client meetings, proposals, RFQ submissions, and strategic planning with division leadership and marketing staff, including active pursuit of energy sector clients and opportunities.QualificationsBS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university; other engineering degrees considered based on relevant experience and qualifications.5–15 years of experience preferred; demonstrated experience with energy infrastructure or utility-scale civil site development is strongly preferred.PE certification required.Familiarity with energy development permitting processes, interconnection requirements, or construction administration for energy projects is a plus.Strong project management, communication, and client relationship skills.Why ThrasherThrasher provides an excellent benefits package including:Health, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and company-paid short- and long-term disability401(k) with company matchingPaid parental leave and paid time offTuition assistance and professional development supportAn emphasis is placed on professional development through structured goal setting and specialized training opportunities.
