Housekeeping Supervisor
Position Purpose
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members, and monitoring private and public areas for tidiness. You will possess team management abilities and obtain a working knowledge of sanitation regulations. You will demonstrate a personal attention to detail within your assigned tasks. You will ensure customer satisfaction and augment our reputation while maintaining and enhancing the quality of our service. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues and follow established health and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required.
Oversee housekeeping staff daily
Train new employees on cleaning and maintenance tasks
Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness, and hygiene standards
Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
Inspect all clean rooms and report them to the front desk
Inspect all vacant rooms and report all discrepancies to Housekeeping and/or General Manager
Correct all cleaning discrepancies in vacant rooms, changing status in the property management system on the computer
Inspect all rooms on maintenance status and report repairs needed in guest rooms to the Maintenance staff
Inspect common areas for approved cleanliness
Inspect all linen closets and assists in the inventory of the linen
Perform the duties of the Housekeeper/Room Attendant, Houseman, and/or Laundry Attendant when needed
Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
Respond to customer complaints and special requests
Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed
Inform Maintenance team of any maintenance and repair needs
Guarantee facility compliance with safety and cleanliness standards
Maintain a gracious manner with all guests and uphold a high-level of service
Adhere to grooming and appearance guidelines
Report to the Manager on time for scheduled shift. Obtain Manager's approval prior to shift's end to ensure that all duties are completed
Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager

Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Perform other duties as requested by management.

Education/Certifications/Licensure
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Work experience as Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role
Language Skills
Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English Language
Spanish speaking is a plus
Ability to work productively with other employees as part of a team
Ability to handle obstacles in a positive and professional manner and to effectively communicate these problems, along with suggested solutions
Ability to work a flexible workweek including nights, weekends, and holidays

Ability to lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. on occasion
Standing and walking is continuous for an 8-hour shift.
Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and ascending and descending stairs are repetitive movements.
