BCBA Trainee

Our services include direct (1:1) speech, behavioral, occupational, and physical therapy, along with a developmental enrichment program focused on academic and whole-child development. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and compassionate BCBA Trainee to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children from diverse developmental backgrounds and align with Indie's neurodiversity-affirming practices. The BCBA Trainee will work directly with children in-center, supporting skill acquisition and behavior support, through engaging and play-based methods. Position Overview: We are thrilled to welcome a compassionate, creative and dedicated Master's level BCBA trainee to our Developmental Program. The BCBA trainee will become an integral member of the Indie team, providing direct consultation, assessment and therapy to learners and their caregivers within the scope of the BACB task list, Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI) and current areas of expertise. Responsibilities: Collaborate with BCBA supervisor to schedule and conduct learner intake and parent consultation meetings. Collaborate with BCBA supervisor toselect relevant assessments for each learner based on information gathered in the initial parent/caregiver consultation. Co-create and implement learner plans using naturalistic, play-based strategies to support skill acquisition, communication, social-emotional awareness, and sensory needs. Work collaboratively with families to create an inclusive and nurturing environment that encourages learner engagement, creativity, and skill generalization across a variety of settings. Accurately and efficiently collect and record data during sessions to monitor progress and inform collaborative decision-making. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices and techniques in the field of applied behavior analysis. Foster a safe and respectful environment that aligns with our company's mission and values. Advocate for and implement inclusive practices that celebrate neurodiversity, disability and culture, recognizing and respecting the unique strengths and areas of growth for each child. Qualifications: The BCBA apprentice certifies that they are actively enrolled in or have completed a BACB approved, Master’s level course sequence toward their BCBA certification. The purpose of this role is to accrue necessary fieldwork hours and relevant experience toward BCBA certification and licensure. Familiar with (or willing to learn) a social model of therapy for Neurodiverse individuals. Hold a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (preferred) Possess a minimum of two years of experience in the field of applied behavior analysis. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, families, supervisors and co-workers. Exhibit empathy, creativity, and adaptability in your approach to therapy. Passion for working with children of all abilities and fostering inclusion. Familiarity with basic Google applications and the ability to navigate data tracking systems. Has reliable and timely transportation to and from sessions. Holds valid fingerprint clearances or willing to obtain before start date. Position Details: Compensation commensurate with education, experience and willingness to learn.
