Controls Engineer

Additional Skills & QualificationsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test engine control software for various fuel compositions and environments.Conduct studies to identify and implement new sensors and actuators in both R&D and field testing applications.Implement improved fault detection and accommodation logic to improve reliability and uptime.Oversee installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of engine reformers at new field sites, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and supplier engineers to ensure successful integration and operation of engine reformer control systems.Provide technical support, expert advice, and training on engine control-related issues to clients and colleagues.Lead or participate in safety and risk assessment studies related to engine software design and operation.Prepare and review technical documentation, including performance data, software builds, wiring diagrams.Required QualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines; 3.0 GPA or above.Hands-on engine calibration and testing experience.Experience integrating controls software and hardware into complex systems.Strong written and oral communication skills.Proficiency in engineering analysis tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office Suite)Willingness to travel to various M2X design and manufacturing sites, as well as field test locations.2+ years of professional experience.Preferred Qualifications3.5 GPA or above.MS/PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.Track record of working in a team setting to develop and deliver engineering solutions.3-5 years of professional experience in engine calibration and CAN communication.Experience with in-cylinder pressure measurement systems and other high speed DAQ.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockledge, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
