Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometry professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ocular health and be committed to providing exceptional patient care. This role involves working closely with patients to assess their vision needs, perform eye examinations, and assist in the management of ocular diseases. A solid foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for success in this position.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to evaluate patients' vision and ocular health.
Provide patient education on eye care, including the use of corrective lenses and treatment options.
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in the diagnosis and management of various ocular conditions, collaborating with ophthalmologists as needed.
Perform routine tests such as visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and refraction.
Ensure proper documentation of medical coding for billing purposes.
Manage patient flow and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
Monitor vital signs when necessary and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Experience
Candidates should have a background in optometry or a related field, with experience that may include:
Knowledge of systems related to ophthalmology and optometry practices.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology.
Previous experience in patient care roles that emphasize customer service.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Experience with medical coding is a plus but not mandatory.
