Simulation Scientist | The Wizard
Job Title: Simulation Scientist | The Wizard
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Who You Are:
You have an advanced STEM degree and a love for math, but you aren’t ready to spend all your time in a quiet, dusty library working on the theoretical problems that long-dead people have left behind. The boring and mundane isn’t for you, instead you long to show the world that…
Math = Power
…especially when combined with some C++ code.
The bottom line: You are smart, talented, and ready to continue your quest for knowledge while helping others solve their most challenging problems. Wow us with your insight and attention to detail and we might even help you carry your things into your new office.
Who We Are:
Infinity Labs is an innovation-driven company with world-class expertise in the defense and national security sectors. Infinity provides cutting-edge engineering technologies and solutions, including modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A), research and development (R&D), cyber operational technology, and training. Our extensive project portfolio covers a vast range of physical scales and applications, from materials and components to subsystems, platforms, and systems of systems. We integrate science and systems as part of our overall solutioning approach and we investigate advanced concepts and technologies with disruptive application potential. The sophistication of our work directly reflects the ingenuity and proficiency of our team. Our workforce shapes the future, and our employees are our greatest asset.
What You’ll Do:
Most of the work you will do uses different capabilities resident in the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software suite. As part of our Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Team, you will create custom applications and plugins that enable advanced MS&A analysis for our customers. For you to be successful you will need to understand our customers’ missions and their capabilities as well as the overall AFSIM framework.
Most of our wizards have similar backgrounds - better than average programming skills, at least a layman's understanding of how the different levels of the M&S Pyramid are connected, and they make math look easy. Beyond that, team members wander into areas that pique their own individual interests - some are great with MATLAB and Simulink, others dabble in advanced Aero concepts, and a few enjoy algorithm development and implementation.
Qualifications/What You’ll Bring:
BS Degree in a STEM discipline, MS or PhD preferred
C++ and Python programming skills
