Director of Pre-Construction (Data Centres) 📍 Herndon, VA | Full-TimeAbout the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Preconstruction to lead estimating and pre-construction efforts across a growing portfolio of data centre projects. This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on delivering complex, high-value builds. Career-defining projects!Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the full preconstruction process across multiple data centre projectsOversee, mentor, and grow a team of estimators, including hiring and performance managementDevelop subcontractor strategies and manage bid processes, including go/no-go decisionsProduce conceptual estimates and drive value engineering throughout design developmentSupport business development and client engagement effortsEstablish project budgets and objectives for high-value projects (£15M+/equivalent)Oversee financial performance (WIP, AP/AR, quarterly reviews) and project handoversImplement and optimise tools and systems (e.g. Procore) to improve deliveryRequirementsDegree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar10+ years’ experience in pre-construction/estimatingProven leadership experience managing and developing teamsStrong experience delivering data centre projectsProficiency in estimating and business software (e.g. Bluebeam, MS Office, Buildr)Experience working for a General Contractor strongly preferredStrong commercial awareness and financial oversight experienceWhat We’re Looking For A confident leader with expertise in data centre construction.Interested?
