Find a job you'll love today!The Director, Legal is responsible for providing day-to-day legal support to Everise's U.S. and global operations, with a primary focus on employment and labor law, litigation management, and commercial risk support.This role partners closely with HR, Operations, Finance, and business leaders to manage legal risk in a high-growth, multi-jurisdictional services environment and to deliver practical, business-oriented legal solutions.Job RequirementsEmployment & Labor LawServe as a legal advisor on U.S. and global employment matters, including hiring, discipline, performance management, terminations, and reductions in forceEnsure compliance with wage and hour laws (FLSA and state equivalents), ADA, PWFA, FMLA, and state/local leave laws, including accommodation processesAdvise on employee relations matters, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and workplace investigationsProvide guidance to HR and leadership on employee relations issues and corrective actionsDraft and review employment-related documentation, including offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and separation agreementsMonitor changes in employment law and advise on impact to the businessLitigation, Arbitration & Agency MattersSupport the management of employment and commercial litigation, including EEOC, DOL, and state agency claimsPartner with outside counsel on case strategy and managementAssist with preparation of legal documentation, including pleadings, discovery, and settlement agreementsCoordinate internal investigations, litigation holds, and document productionCommercial & Client SupportDraft, review, and negotiate agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor and services agreementsAdvise on key contractual terms such as indemnification, limitation of liability, and risk allocationSupport client-related legal matters and escalations in coordination with Operations and FinanceCompliance, Governance & RiskSupport compliance with employment, regulatory, and contractual obligationsAssist in the development and implementation of policies and proceduresPartner with cross-functional teams on risk mitigation initiativesSupport audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal reviewsBusiness PartnershipPartner with business leaders to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal adviceBalance legal risk with operational objectivesPrepare clear and concise legal guidance and recommendationsKnowledgeEducation & LicensureJuris Doctor (JD)Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionFederal bar admission preferredExperience2 - 5 years of progressive legal experienceStrong background in employment and labor law (in-house and/or law firm)Experience supporting employment litigation, arbitrations, and agency mattersTransactional experience, including drafting and negotiating agreementsExperience advising HR and business stakeholdersPrior in-house experience preferredExperience supporting multi-state or global operations is a plusCompensation & Benefits:The anticipated base salary range for this remote position is between $140,000- $150,000. In addition, Everise provides benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off. Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonus and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
