We are looking for a Physical Therapy Assistant to work in our Washington ClinicThis position will be responsible for supporting Physical Therapists with patient care along the care continuum. This includes care, execution, counsel and planning of all therapy related treatments.Essential Job Functions IncludeWorks directly with Physical Therapist to assist patientsObserve patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and report notes to the Physical TherapistUnder direction of the Physical Therapist, assigns specific exercise for the patient and helps the patients do these exercises.Monitor a patient's activities to make sure they are performing them correctly and to offer encouragementDocument patient's weekly progress in appropriate recordsContribute to meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care plans for patientsCounsels patients and their families on what to do following treatmentPerforms job duties in alignment with organizations 8 core valuesFunctions as a cooperative, active member of the health care teamMaintains confidentiality of all patient and physician related information.Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development, by participating in continuing education programs, and other appropriate learning experiences.Maintains safety and infection control standards, recognizes and reports inferior patient care and or safety hazardsExperience Required IncludesStrong organizational skillsInterpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients.Ability to act with integrity in regard to all matters of confidentiality.Ability to lift patients and help them moveGood attention to detailSolid knowledge of anatomyKnowledge of PT stretches and exercises3 or more years' experience preferred.Qualification Required IncludeAssociate's Degree in a PT Assistant program required.Licensed or eligible for State of MO PTA licenseCurrent CPR and First Aid certificationsEfficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and EMR programsWe support our employees with a generous benefits package.
