Testing Lead – MMIS

Job Title: Testing Lead – MMISLocation: On-site, Pierre, South DakotaDuration: 12 months (June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027) with possible extensionsJob SummaryThe Testing Lead will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing testing activities for enhancements and development within the Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS). The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, project teams, and IT staff to ensure system quality, compliance, and functionality.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage testing efforts with project leads and IT teamsDesign, develop, and document comprehensive test cases and scenariosAnalyze system impacts across interconnected systems and business processesExecute test scenarios, track defects, and support remediation effortsCollaborate with stakeholders to validate system functionality and business requirementsMaintain knowledge of business areas, workflows, and system dependenciesSupport research, planning, development, and implementation of system changes driven by:Federal regulationsState mandatesPolicy updatesLead and facilitate project-related meetingsDocument testing activities and prepare detailed reports on findingsRequired Skills & QualificationsProven experience working with Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)Strong experience in software testing (test case creation, execution, defect tracking)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret policies, regulations, and technical documentationStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to work independently and in team environmentsExperience coordinating with cross-functional teams (business + IT)Strong organizational and time management skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in government or public sector projectsKnowledge of healthcare systems and Medicaid processesExperience leading testing efforts or QA teamsFamiliarity with system integration testing across multiple platformsSoft SkillsStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skillsAbility to build effective working relationshipsLeadership and facilitation skills for meetings and discussionsAdaptability to different working styles and environments
