Senior Project Manager

SENIOR ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGERSalary range from $130,000 - $170,000 + benefits. The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will lead and oversee all phases of electrical projects, ranging from pre-con through closeout. Ensuring delivery on time, within scope & financial targets, as well as maintaining safety standards. The SPM provides strategic direction, drives operational excellence, and serves as a senior liaison between executive leadership, clients, field operations, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.In addition to managing complex projects, the SPM mentors junior project managers and plays a key role in process improvement, risk management, and business growth.ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Strategic PlanningLead planning and execution of multiple or high-complexity projects simultaneously.Review project scope, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive execution strategies.Establish project schedules, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.Lead pre-construction efforts, including client alignment, constructability reviews, and logistics planning.Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and standards.Commercial ManagementOwn full project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.Develop and manage detailed cost codes, manpower plans, and procurement strategies.Oversee billing, revenue recognition, and cash flow management.Identify, negotiate, and manage change orders and claims.Prepare and present financial reports, including cost-to-complete projections, to senior leadership.Operational OversightProvide high-level oversight of field operations in coordination with Superintendents and Foremen.Ensure alignment between field execution and project objectives, schedules, and budgets.Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and project milestones across multiple projects.Resolve complex field and operational issues proactively.Conduct site visits to ensure quality, safety, and performance standards are met.Stakeholder ManagementServe as the senior point of contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and key stakeholders.Build and maintain long-term client relationships, supporting repeat business and growth.Lead project meetings, executive briefings, and progress reviews.Interface with utility companies, municipalities, and regulatory agencies at a strategic level.Leadership & Team DevelopmentMentor and support Project Managers, Assistant PMs, and project staff.Provide guidance on best practices, problem-solving, and career development.Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Assist in recruiting, training, and performance evaluation of project team members.Safety & ComplianceChampion a strong safety culture across all projects.Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.Partner with the Safety Department on audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.Reporting & DocumentationEnsure accurate and timely project documentation, including reports, change orders, and closeout packages.Oversee permitting, licensing, and inspection processes.Deliver comprehensive project closeouts, including financial reconciliation and lessons learned.Provide executive-level reporting on project performance and risks.Qualifications5+ years of project management experience in electrical construction/infrastructure.Proven experience managing large-scale or multiple concurrent projects.Strong knowledge of underground construction methods.Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring or managing project teams.Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in project management and construction software.Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to job sites as needed (in/around Charlotte).
