Our team members have inspired the shared values we embrace in all decisions and actions: Unwavering Integrity, Trail Blazing, Bold Action, Collective Compassion, and Unconditional Respect.Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Starlight sells new homes in Atlanta, Austin, Charleston, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Antonio and Tampa.Position OverviewProvide operational leadership of all construction activities for an assigned geographic area of the Starlight division reporting directly to the Director of ConstructionHire, train, coach and motivate assigned construction staffDrive operational efficiencies to include cycle times, construction extras, customer satisfaction and quality controlWork collaboratively with all functional peers as a member of the Construction Team to ensure achievement of department and business goalsAct as hands on leader, getting involved in front line work when neededIdentify and analyze trends in service workDevelop and implement programs to correct errors and trendsEstablish and maintain effective subcontractor relationsAct as liaison between Field Managers and the Director of ConstructionResponsibilitiesProvide operational leadership to direct reports in assigned areasEnsure that construction department is staffed and competent in technical, administrative and customer satisfaction skillsEnsure that construction activities are performed in cost-effective mannerWork in conjunction with the Purchasing team to on-board new trade partnersTeam with Sales/Purchasing/Finance to ensure coordination and problem solving between the respective organizationSupport Land Development and Acquisition functions as neededWork collaboratively with members of divisional leadership team and corporate team as requestedEnsure that assigned work sites comply with safety program and other regulatory requirementsTeam with assigned Sales Agents to ensure high satisfaction level in Customer ServiceProactively communicate any construction, customer service or safety issues to Vice President of Construction with suggestions for resolutionProactively manage production levels and adequate staffing to deliver your respective Area closing budgetMaintain warranty service completion at or below established goalDevelop and implement a process which allows service trends to be analyzed, root causes identified, and appropriate corrections madeMaintain warranty expenses within assigned budgetProactively communicate any construction, customer service or safety issues to the Vice President of ConstructionProvide first level resolution to customer and trade concerns, by directly contacting the customer or vendor with needsMiscellaneous projects as assigned by supervisorQualifications4-year degree from accredited college/university preferredValid/Active driver’s license is required3-5+ years of successful construction management and/or mentorship/coaching experience within the homebuilding industry3-5+ years of proven track record as Field Manager/Project Manager7-10+ years homebuilding experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to handle high volume situationsMaintain an adaptable and flexible attitudeStrong work ethic, drive, positive attitude, and decision-making skillsComfortable with use of computers and technologyBilingual with the ability to speak Spanish is preferredTypical Physical And Mental Demands Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Spanish language skills are helpful. Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have vision sufficient to utilize all office equipment. Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipment. Use of feet and legs required to walk, climb and maneuver within construction sites Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.These physical requirements are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Occasional work will be performed in a typical office environment and may involve the use of typical office environment using standard office equipment. Work is typically active in nature, but some sitting may be required. Fast paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority change and short notice activity.
