Special Education LBS1 Resource Teacher (part-time .50)

West Elementary School currently has an opening for a Part Time .50 Special Education LBS1 Resource. The goal of this position is to provide specialized instruction and supports in various environments where students with disabilities have an opportunity to succeed in accordance with their Individual Educational Plan (IEP).Duties And ResponsibilitiesManage and administer an appropriate program of instruction for students identified as having disabilitiesPrepare an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each childMonitor and update each Individual Education Plan using electronic IEP systemConference with parents concerning the Individual Education PlanProvide appropriate assessment and evaluation of each child's programMaintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulationTake all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesSubmit required testing and update information in a timely fashionAttend in-service programs in order to remain current in all areas dealing with special education disabilitiesProvide parents and teachers with suggestions on how to be more effective with children with disabilitiesUse appropriate techniques and strategies that promote and enhance critical, creative, and evaluative thinking of studentsUse appropriate instruction strategies and materials they reflect each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic backgroundFulfill the terms of any affected written contract and adhere to the Codes of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession in IllinoisAssist in the enforcement of all federal, state and district regulations, policies and proceduresMonitor students in a testing environmentMake all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with District 47's policies and philosophiesEnsure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulationsCase manage students to ensure all specialized services are providedPerform other tasks or services consistent with the job goal of this positionSkills And Experience RequiredValid Illinois Professional Educator LicenseLBS1 EndorsementA Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityAdaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composurePhysical/Mental RequirementsDemonstrate high levels of flexibility, interpersonal skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality, and organizationPhysical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment or materialHigh level of flexibility, articulation, concentration, and confidentiallyPlease Include: 3 Letters of Reference and/or Credential PacketTranscriptsResume
