Nonprofit Executive Director

GrepBeat is a 501(c)3 nonprofit media organization covering entrepreneurship and innovation in North Carolina. Through our storytelling channels, we support the region’s tech entrepreneurs. We are seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead and grow GrepBeat. This is a new position. The right candidate will be an experienced fundraiser, especially through major gifts, grants, and partnerships, as well as a seasoned leader.  Responsibilities would include:Lead and grow GrepBeat as a nonprofit media organization, with primary responsibility for fundraising, sponsorships, donor relations, and long-term financial sustainability.Build and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, foundations, family offices, and ecosystem partners to expand community and philanthropic support.Develop and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and strategic partnerships that advance GrepBeat’s mission and growth.Prepare Board materials and reports, support governance activities, and work closely with the Board on strategic planning and fundraising efforts.Oversee GrepBeat’s operations, managing a team that produces content and programming serving North Carolina’s startup ecosystem.The ideal candidate would have:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.7+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, media, entrepreneurship, or related fields.Demonstrated success in fundraising and generating revenue.Strong financial and operational management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.This is a full-time position with a salary and benefits commensurate with experience. This position is in-person, based out of our Downtown Durham (NC) office.
