This role leads cross‑functional, global teams to deliver informatics solutions (e.g., LIMS/LIS and related platforms) on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.Operating in a matrix organization, the Senior Software Project Manager serves as the primary owner of delivery governance—managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder communication—while partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure successful outcomes for both internal and customer‑facing programs.What You’ll Do:Project Planning & Execution:Own the full project lifecycle from initiation through delivery and closure, ensuring alignment with contractual, operational, and strategic objectivesDevelop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, resources, dependencies, and budgetsLead cross‑functional project teams to execute against approved plans, adjusting proactively to changing priorities and constraintsDelivery Governance & Control:Monitor and control project performance against schedule, budget, and scope, taking corrective action as needed to maintain delivery commitmentsManage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs and proactively identify mitigation strategies to reduce delivery riskManage change control processes, including scope changes, impact analysis, and approved change orders where applicableStakeholder & Customer Management:Serve as the primary point of accountability for project communication with internal stakeholders, customers, and senior leadershipProvide clear, consistent project status reporting, including milestone progress, financial performance, risks, and escalation itemsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with customers, ensuring alignment on expectations and delivery outcomesCross‑Functional Leadership:Coordinate activities across Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Professional Services, and Commercial teams to ensure integrated deliveryPartner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to align delivery plans with product roadmaps and release strategiesSupport commercial activities as needed, including project estimation, proposal development, statements of work, and delivery planningQuality, Compliance & Documentation:Ensure projects are executed in compliance with corporate Quality Management Systems, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP, FDA‑regulated environments)Oversee the creation, review, and approval of required project lifecycle documentation, including requirements, specifications, testing, validation, and training materialsSupport audit readiness and customer inspections related to project delivery activitiesWhat You’ll Bring:Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience5+ years of experience in software project management or equivalent experience delivering/managing complex enterprise or customer‑facing systemsProven experience managing budgets, schedules, resources, and contractual commitments for multi‑disciplinary software projects.Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and escalation skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience delivering and/or managing LIMS, LIS, or laboratory informatics solutionsExperience working in regulated life‑sciences, clinical diagnostics, or pharmaceutical environmentsPMP or equivalent project management certification.Familiarity with project and delivery tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, Aha, digital whiteboards)Key Competencies:Strong delivery ownership and accountability mindsetAbility to lead through influence in matrixed, global organizationsExcellent planning, prioritization, and risk management skillsCustomer‑focused with strong commercial awarenessComfortable operating in fast‑paced, complex, and regulated environmentsIf any applicant is unable to complete an application or respond to a job opening because of a disability, please email at Recruiting@azenta.com for assistance.Azenta is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience, education (including licensure and certifications), qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
