Our client frequently partners with external agencies to supplement staffing needs for large-scale, time-bound projects.Job SummaryThe Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector provides technical oversight and field verification of electrical, instrumentation, and control work during construction and commissioning phases. The role focuses on confirming installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes, while supporting quality, safety, and system functionality for reliable plant operationJob DescriptionReview electrical and instrumentation installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, ISA).Monitor cable pulling, terminations, grounding, and equipment installation for workmanship and adherence to approved procedures.Observe loop checks, functional testing, and instrument calibration to verify system readiness.Examine inspection and test records, calibration certificates, and quality documentation for accuracy, completeness, and traceability.Participate in system walkdowns to identify deficiencies or incomplete work prior to system handover.Review redline drawings and as-built documentation to support accurate turnover packages.Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to track progress and ensure quality of electrical and instrumentation systems.Support verification of system restoration following testing or energization activities.Skills RequiredProven experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector or in a similar QA/QC or field inspection role within construction or industrial projectsStrong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems installation, testing, and commissioningFamiliarity with applicable codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, and ISAAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and specificationsExperience with inspection, testing, and calibration of instruments and control systemsStrong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection documentation, and turnover requirementsExcellent attention to detail with the ability to identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completedEffective communication and coordination skills when working with construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teamsAbility to maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation with strong organizational skillsProficiency in relevant inspection tools, software, and reporting systemsKnowledge of safety standards and practices related to electrical and instrumentation workSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently in field environmentsEducation/Training/CertificationsHigh School Degree or GEDPay Rate/SalaryPay Rate $50-$80/ hr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
