This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who’s confident in their technical tax skills, values clear communication, and enjoys working in a supportive, small firm environment where their input matters.What You'll DoYou’ll be responsible for preparing and reviewing business and partnership tax returns. You’ll help clients understand their numbers, not just file them.Key Responsibilities• Prepare and review federal and state business tax returns• Conduct tax research and apply findings to client situations• Manage tax deadlines, filings, and correspondence with the IRS and state agencies• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients• Collaborate with internal team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all workRequirements• Kindness matters here, we’re looking for someone who brings warmth, respect, and a caring attitude to every interaction• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation with TaxSlayer Desktop• Strong working knowledge of current federal and state tax codes• Ability to work independently and manage a variety of client accounts• Exceptional attention to detail and time management• Strong interpersonal communication skills• Proficiency in accounting and preparation of financial statements• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities• Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferences:• Experience with NonProfit Tax Filing• CPA or EA (or actively pursuing)• Experience in client-facing roles What It’s Like to Work at Mod LedgerWe don’t do stuffy.
