Commercial Loan Servicing Manager

The Commercial Loan Servicing Manager is responsible for servicing and related activities of WHEDA’s multifamily affordable housing and economic development loan and guarantee portfolio. Day-to-day management of existing loans, payments and borrower issues, including delinquencies, escrows, and performance monitoring of the portfolio. This position also has supervisory authority for exempt and non-exempt employees.Hiring Range for this position is from $85,275 to $106,404 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Manages the activities of the Commercial Loan Servicing Team, including portfolio analysis, quality assurance and commercial loan servicing. This includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, portfolios, contracts, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings for these functions.Perform supervisory duties for the Commercial Loan Servicing Team, including hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action. Ensure employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.Executes administrative management of loan portfolios, including collaborating with internal and external partners on troubled properties, and reporting to meet federal and state requirements for multifamily and economic development programs administered by WHEDA. Provides analysis and complex reports related to loan portfolio.Monitors timeliness and completeness of tasks required under government regulations, contracts, lending programs, and legal documents. Responds to requests for information and provides subject-matter-expert guidance to other departments, customers, the general public, and/or outside agencies. Research and evaluates the impact of legal or regulatory changes.High-level involvement with new initiatives, enhancements to program design and customer service, selecting/implementing new and existing software, formulating/modifying new and existing policies, programs, and procedures; adheres to strategic plan. Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field AND 7 years of progressively responsible experience related to commercial or multifamily loan servicing, risk analysis or asset management, including 5 years of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Valid Driver’s License RequiredKnowledge and SkillsManagerial and supervisorial principlesPolicy and procedure development practicesProven coaching and mentoring skills.Advanced servicing, portfolio and asset management principles, practices, and proceduresAdvanced knowledge of multifamily, economic development, and commercial lending programs Finance and accounting principles, practices, and proceduresUnderwriting principles, practices, and proceduresFinance and accounting principles, practices, and proceduresRisk assessment principles and practices, including risk mitigation techniquesApplicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulationsAttention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement.Customer service principlesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of business correspondence and public speaking. Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Successful prioritizing and management of work projectsAbility to work independently and efficiently.Maintains confidentiality related to internal/ external customers and any other information obtained in this role.
