Senior Project ManagerA Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and control of a construction project from its inception to the time it is complete. A Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the client's requirements regarding project functionality and standards are met as well as ensuring a successful conclusion of the project.
The Senior Project Manager is charged with bidding the job and distributes documents to the bidders, answers their questions during the bid processing and issues bid addenda if needed to clarify important details. Senior Project Manager evaluates and judges the merits of each other when the bids come in. There is typically a negotiation processed with a successful bidder before a contract is signed that is managed by The Senior Project Manager.
During construction, a Senior Project Manager must have thorough knowledge of the trades, crafts, and equipment needed to complete the job, plus the ability to identify potential problems. Change orders, or contract changes in scope or quantity, can be caused by plan errors, weather conditions, and unexpected issues, such as the unavailability of a key component or material. The Senior Project Manager is charged with fairly settling contract issues that arise from changes.
A Senior Project Manager is a person who plans and ensures the coordination of construction jobs. A Senior Project Manager has the responsibility of supervising the construction project. A Senior Project Manager ensures that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget is followed as planned. Oversees the selection of trade contractors and general contractors who are ideal for the completion of a project.
Oversees the performance of contractors.
Ensuring that the construction work is completed on schedule.
Monitoring and directing the progress in the construction site.
Oversees the delivery of materials, construction tools, and equipment.
Ensuring that the construction resources are used well.
Ensuring that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workers.
Obtaining the necessary licenses or permits.
Monitoring the compliance with set regulations.
Ensuring that both the health and safety projects plans are implemented.
Being on site to oversee all the construction process.
Ensuring that the budget is followed in terms of purchasing and wages.
Organizing the workers and ensuring that they are performing as required.
Recording the total costs for material bought and payments for work done.
General inspection of the workers and their performance and safety.
Ensuring that the stipulated safety rules and regulations are met.
Liaises with the government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety.
Follows the project construction process to ensure that it is completed in time.
Supervises the subcontractors and ensures that they are punctual and that they deliver.
Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained.
Writing project progress records in liaison with the foreman.

Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
Ability to comprehend forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects. May be used in such tasks as blueprint reading and in solving geometry problems. Frequently described as the ability to "visualize" objects of two and three dimensions, or to think visually of geometric forms.
Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. The frequency of manipulation is frequently.
Ability to move up or mount by using the hands or feet to include:
Ladders - Step stool, 8' to 10' ladder, extension ladder
Stairways - 3 or more flights
To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend, downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 20-50 times daily
To stretch out, extend, or put forth a bodily part. To touch or grasp something, by extending or stretching. To touch, lift, hold or operate with the hands up to 50 times daily.
