Alternative Learning and Middle School Interventionist

Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in appropriate endorsement area.Experience in alternative learning environments or online student tracking.Multiple areas of endorsement in secondary grade levels. Knowledge and AbilitiesDemonstrate effective instruction and the ability to track quality evidence of learning through online platforms and multiple assessment types.High-level organizational and computer skills necessary for supporting online instruction and student progress tracking.Ability to facilitate "Flex Friday" initiatives, including large-scale projects and experiential learning.Must understand and maintain confidentiality.Demonstrate constructive and effective communication skills with students, parents, and cohorts.Familiarity with Common Core Standards and SBAC Assessments. Essential Job FunctionsOnline Student Tracking: Monitor and guide students enrolled in online courses, ensuring progress, attendance, and academic integrity.Middle School Intervention: Provide targeted academic support and intervention for middle school students to improve attendance and learning outcomes.Flex Friday Planning: Act as a lead planner for the Flex Friday schedule, creating opportunities for field trips, experiential learning, and community-based projects.Data Analysis: Utilize data to identify areas for growth in student attendance and engagement, specifically addressing post-COVID community needs.Classroom Environment: Create and maintain a supportive environment conducive to both independent online learning and small-group interventions.Collaboration: Meet and confer with colleagues, support staff, and parents regularly to discuss student progress and Flex Friday logistics.Compliance: Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and District policy.Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic, and demonstrate promptness in all professional tasks.Other Duties: Perform other necessary and reasonable duties as assignedInternal applicants may submit a Letter of Interest and supporting information to the District Office.
